Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy that can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing by reducing stress in people’s lives and can be key in optimising good health and building resilience.
It is a touch therapy that is based on the theory that different reflex points on the feet, lower legs, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body and reflexologists work these points and areas.
However reflexology is viewed, there can be no doubt that what it does provide is a period of time for relaxation where the client has one to one attention and supportive touch, in an empathetic listening environment.
Reflexology can be used safely alongside standard healthcare to promote better health.

Reflexology is a therapy which can be received by anyone at any age. From new-born babies to those receiving end of life care, and everyone in between.
However, there may occasionally be times when it is not suitable to provide a treatment. The best advice I can give you is to call me for an informal discussion about how Reflexology may be able to help you.
Alternatively, send me an email for more information.
Please note: Reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice.
Well trained reflexologists do not claim to cure, diagnose, or prescribe. Reflexology is a very individual treatment which is tailored to you as a whole person, whilst taking into account both physical and non-physical factors that might be affecting your wellbeing. Some people find it works for them - some don’t. The best way to find out is to try it!
The theory is that reflexology helps the body to restore its balance naturally. Usually, after a treatment your tension may be reduced, and you might feel relaxed. You might also notice yourself sleeping better and find your mood and sense of wellbeing improving. You may also find that other aspects improve too however, this happens on an individual basis.
With ever increasing levels of stress in everyday life, it is important for people to take more responsibility for their own healthcare needs.
Reflexology may be one of the ways to mitigate the stresses of modern life.
Reflexology may benefit many health conditions. However, more generally, Reflexology can help to reduce stress, promote relaxation, increase vitality, improve circulation, eliminate waste products, reduce pain levels and strengthen the immune system.
Every Reflexologist will have heard this hundreds of times. My answer is always, “What’s not to love about Reflexology?”
I understand that every client is an individual and what works for one may not work for another. I can always adapt my treatment, changing pressure and techniques to suit my client.
My advice would be to give it a go.
I also offer Facial Reflexology.
During our initial contact we will have had a brief discussion over the phone about why you have decided to have reflexology. Once we have booked a treatment, I will send you a consent form & questionnaire to be completed and returned before attending. The questionnaire will contain your personal contact details, medical history and some lifestyle questions. This will ensure that there are no contra-indications from pre-existing conditions and gives me the opportunity to begin to tailor a unique holistic treatment plan for you.
All information contained on the questionnaire will be handled in the strictest confidence and is stored in accordance with GDPR requirements.
During our initial meeting, we will have a discussion regarding your pre-completed questionnaire and my proposed treatment plan. You will then be able to experience the healing and relaxing benefits of reflexology.
At the conclusion of the initial treatment, we will discuss any sensitive reflexes that are found to be out of balance. and what these may mean for you. As part of the holistic approach to health, I will make lifestyle suggestions which may help you on your journey to restoring and rebalancing your body.
I may also demonstrate hand or facial reflexology techniques that you can work on by yourself between treatements.
Any subsequent treatments will involve me using your unique treatment plan to focus on specific reflexes to help improve your presenting condition.
Depending on the type of reflexology, the most clothing that will have to be removed for a treatment to take place, will be your shoes and socks.
It is useful to give feedback to the reflexologist as this may show the response of your body to treatment. This in turn might help the reflexologist to tailor a treatment plan specific to your needs. After one or two treatments your body may respond in a very noticeable way.
Most people note a sense of well-being and relaxation; however, sometimes people report feeling lethargic, nauseous or tearful, but this is usually transitory, and reflexologists believe that it is part of the healing process.
You will be handed an Aftercare Leaflet at the conclusion of your initial treatment.
